The FSA Orbit MX Headset is a well renowned headset in FSA's range that utilises a forged alloy construction to keep things light, while the high quality angular contact bearings and FSA's clever top race with its concealed O-ring help keep out moisture. Just like the Orbit Extreme Headset, the Orbit MX uses 7075/T6 alloy for lighter weight, but utilises a forged construction rather than the more expensive CNC process employed for the Extreme to keep the cost down.

Unlike some other brands, FSA headsets use 36/36 angular contact sealed cartridge bearings in the Orbit MX to provide a strong platform against lateral and vertical loading on the headtube. The sealed bearings give much better resistance to contamination when compared to steel-caged bearing headsets, and if they ever do wear out then spares are cheap and readily available.
